rediscovering soul

Coach & Facilitator Education

“Learn your theories as well as you can, but put them aside when you touch the miracle of the living soul.”

C.G. Jung, Contributions to Analytical Psychology

Coaching and facilitation or two different professions, each having its own skill set and theories, yet sharing a number of common threads. Coaches and facilitators both provide guidance: coaches by asking the powerful questions to individuals and groups, facilitation by designing & guiding an experience that brings a group to their intended goal. Both strive to be experts in their professional process, but take on different roles: coaches that of partner, and facilitator that of guide. Both professions have their theories, and, as Jung said above, those within each field must learn their theories well. But true mastery lies within the ability to set aside these theories when one touches "the miracle of the living soul."

My educational offerings are designed to teach specific skill sets and theories, AND to teach coaches and facilitators to remember the importance of keeping soul in mind as they create and work within their professional containers. I invite you to explore the programs and find the learning that will enhance the coaching and/or facilitation that you offer to the world.

The Acorn Theory

a consideration of your coaching path through the lens of Hillman's acorn theory

James Hillman's acorn theory proposes that we have always had inside us the essence of who we are and the difference we are called to make in this world. Shaped by our strengths and challenges, as well as our culture, our family, and life experiences, our call can find expression in different ways. This learning opportunity provides an opportunity to explore the concept of calling and how this call impacts your coaching or facilitation practice. Also offered as a one-on-one coaching package.

Virtual workshop: 3 group sessions and 1 individual session

Archetypal Threads

discovering the larger stories that guide your work in the world

Below outer objectives lie a deeper world of meaning and insights. Knowing your own core energies and preferred ways of moving through the world is an essential part of encouraging others to explore their own stories. This learning experience presents an opportunity for coaches and facilitators to move beyond their own outer objectives and develop an awareness of the deeper currents moving within their professional lives. This awareness encourages deep reflection, reflection that invites a more meaningful understanding of professional identity and the threads that connects and strengthens the offerings provided to others. Also offered as a one-on-one coaching package.

Virtual workshop: 3 group sessions and 1 individual session

Includes administration of a feedback on the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator assessment

Storytelling & Mirroring

the art of listening for and sharing back universal themes

The spoken word is powerful, yet often what is beneath what is said aloud is more powerful and offers more meaningful insights. Deeply listening to stories and recognizing the larger truths held within the spoken and unspoken word is a practice that must be learned and cultivated. This learning experience provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in both the sharing of and mirroring back of stories, a practice that will enrich your coaching and/or facilitation offerings.

In-person workshop: 2-day group session

Basics of Presentation & Design

Both coaches and facilitators often find themselves provided with opportunities to share insights and knowledge with others in a group setting, opportunities that fall more into the realm of presenting - a space different than the one they are most comfortable and skilled in. This workshop will provide an overview of the basics of designing and delivering a powerful presentation packed with engagement and relevance.

Virtual workshop for virtual design & presentation: 3 two-hour group sessions

In-person workshop for in-person design & presentation: 1 day group session
